The Sales Engineer is a technical resource supporting multiple teams. They are responsible for technical discovery, solution consulting, proposal preparation support and technical presentations to customers for 123Net’s full suite of products and solutions.

This position is open to a technically minded individual that are interested in sales.


  • Providing technical direction and design on complex voice and data solutions
  • Performs customer discovery discussions to understand and document business needs and design requirements necessary for the optimal solutions
  • Provide technical sales support to help drive revenue, shorten the sales cycle, and win elaborate opportunities
  • Responsible for providing detailed diagrams
  • Assist project management to successfully coordinate service delivery
  • Validate deliverables and assure order documentation is accurate prior to submittal of intricate orders
  • Serve as technical liaison between pre-sale and post-sales to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Provide insight and recommendations on service delivery optimization and product development
  • Responsible for maintaining carrier relationships and access delivery methods
  • Contribute to technical training and development


  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Time management skills are critical
  • Ability to work autonomously on multiple projects
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong consultative experience to providing customer solutions and design
  • Knowledge of voice and data networks
  • Understanding of LAN/WAN networks and network diversity applications
  • Knowledge of IP Routing and Switching
  • Knowledge of transports including: SONET, Optical Wavelengths and Ethernet technologies
  • Understanding of voice services with an emphasis on IP Telephony and TDM technologies
  • Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
