The Tower Technician provides advanced “hands-on” market support who tests, locates, and repairs for testing, locating and repairing complex equipment problems. They also perform configuration and fault management of a wide array of platforms in 123NET’s network including microwave, fiber optic, and telemetry systems. The main purpose of this field position is the installation, acceptance, lineup, and maintenance of Wireless, Microwave, fiber optic, or other auxiliary equipment that comprises the network. Some responsibilities include being able to climb and perform work on communication towers and building rooftops to accept, test, and maintain microwave radio systems, as well as coordinating required activities with Network Operations Center personnel in the isolation and resolution of network problems. The candidate must be able to work as a part of a cross-functional team to conduct routine preventative and corrective maintenance activities to support Network Deployment, Performance, and Reliability initiatives, and be able to troubleshoot problems on his/her own related to the network and provide process improvement input as needed.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Comtrain Certification
- 2-Year Technical Degree, Equivalent Military or Work Experience in Tower Construction/Installation
- Proficiencies in Installation & Maintenance of Microwave, Fixed Wireless or Fiber Optics
- Strong PC Skills & Microsoft Office
- Excellent Verbal & Written Communication
