This section presents some examples of wood features and how they can define style, as well as a series on half timbering of Tudoe English Revival style.

This Transitional Colonial Revival home in a central neighborhood has great paired brackets nicely emphasized by color. Also notice the pilaster window trim and arched topped windows.

A downtown Queen Anne shows perfect form in this formal porch with paired coulmns at the entrance. Another homeowner uses paint to show the details of this design.

Quaint Cottage
A picture perfect English Revival Cottage has wood shingle siding, a simple projecting door hood and cut out shutters. Notice the matching garage and the wonderful stone chimney.

An east side English Revival home has delicate detail on the front entrance porch, well set off against the half timbering and stucco below.

Half Timbering 1
The first of three examples of half timbering on English Revival homes. This one in black and white shows the great contrast of the wood and stucco. Notice the diamond shapes on the left.
